Atash debut CD -- republic of Love, 2003
I'm very proud to have worked on this CD: writing and arranging the songs, playing violin, oud and tamboura, overseeing every aspect of the project from start to finish. I am very fortunate to be a member of the group Atash, and I thank my bandmates, and especially John Moon for believing in our vision enough to bring it to fruition.
1001 Nights -- Salaam, 1998 - CD, rare
I used to be a member of a group called 1001 Nights in Austin, and I enjoyed the work I did on this debut CD by the group, where my violin was an important part of the sound. It was nice to work with Kamran and Erin, and this recording came from a live radio show we did on KUT.
Other CDs I've played on...
Rena -- Breaking the Divide, 2004 - CD
This is a CD by a good friend of mine who used to live in Austin but now lives in San Francisco. I'm not sure what tracks I'm on, because the recording session itself was rather surreal -- in a good way, though...
Sue Young -- River of Life, 2003 - CD
I played oud and violin on one of the tracks on this CD by Sue Young, who is a very kind and spiritual person. I believe I played on "In the Name of the One."
Darin Layne Trio, 2003 - MP3 download
I recorded some tracks on this album with my good friends Darin Layne and Jason McKenzie. You can hear my violin featured on "Left of Sunday Afternoon" and "Violet," available for individual download or as part of the whole album for $10.
Piece of East -- Shadow Box, 2003
Pieces of East is another Austin world music band that has created quite a fan base. I think they must be the nicest people in the world. I enjoyed recording some viola tracks on their debut CD, and working with Mark Hallman again, who co-produced Atash's debut CD.
Eggbo -- Flight of an Urban Legend, 2000
I participated on a few tracks of this album, and made a few arrangement suggestions. I think Craig is a very talented songwriter, and I'm happy he included me on this project.
