Ars Mundi website
Ars Mundi is the company that I founded with John Moon. It is a vehicle for creative visions.
New Atash website
This is a beautiful site designed by Andrea Burden and Sherry Scott. We're gradually filling in the content. Keep checking!
Ashk website
I'm very proud to be playing with these exceptionally talented young musicians, Fared and Mukesh.
Kazem Al-Saher
It was an honor to be a part of Kazem Al-Saher's 2003 North American tour, playing sold out shows like Beacon Theater in New York, Chicago Theater in Chicago, with fine musicians and with the top singer/composer of Iraq, who is also one of the top in the Arab world. The tour was finished just days before the U.S. invasion. It was a time to be part of something which brought the beauty of Iraqi culture to new ears. It did not prevent the invasion, but in some small way, perhaps it achieved something. My hat's off to Dawn Elder, who arranged and managed that tour. It was a beautiful experience.
World Music Central -- Kazem Al-Saher bio
World Music Central is a great resource for world music. Again, this particular page is about Kazem Al-Saher, but I thought it might be helpful for those who can't read the Arabic on his site!
Simon Shaheen's website
This is the site of Simon Shaheen, my friend and mentor, who has helped me and influenced me in many ways. He is a master of Arabic music, and I highly recommend his Arabic Music Retreat for those interested in playing or singing Arabic music. One of these years I will make the time to go back and see those wonderful people! Summers are always so busy for Atash...
Website about Pandit Ram Narayan
This is about the wonderful genius of the sarangi that fate brought into my life in 1995 on my first visit to India. He is my guru and is a very important figure in Indian music. We have shared many meaningful moments, and have visited holy places together. Unfortunately, he does not yet have his own website, and this was the most informative of the ones that I was able to find.
Another site for Pandit Ram Narayan
I wanted to include this site because it has a recent picture of Panditji and also some booking contact information for him. He is planning to visit his daughter in Canada this year, and is open to performing in the U.S. again (he did so last year as well) if everything is done through the proper channels. You may also contact me if you are interested in engaging him.
Anthropos Arts
This is the site for Anthropos Arts, a very necessary nonprofit organization started by my brother Dylan Jones. This org offers free music lessons and workshops to kids who can't afford them. I've been teaching for Anthropos for the past five years, and loving every minute of it.
Austin American Statesman article on Boyd Vance
Boyd Vance, an associate of mine, and an important person in the Austin Arts scene, died unexpectedly on April 9, 2005. Here's an article that celebrates his life and accomplishments.
